Manage your non-Gmail accounts in Filo (via Gmailify)
TL;DR
Until native integrations ship, the easiest way to use non-Gmail accounts—like Outlook or Yahoo—in Filo is to link them to Gmail with Gmailify, then add that Gmail account to Filo. You’ll read, search, and reply in Filo—and send from those addresses. The walkthrough below uses Outlook as the example.
What you’ll need
A Gmail account (any @gmail.com or Google Workspace account)
Your Outlook / Hotmail / Live / Microsoft 365 email address and password
3–5 minutes
Step 1 — Link Outlook to Gmail with Gmailify (one-time)
On Gmail web
Open Gmail → click the gear →
See all settings
.Go to
Accounts and Import
.Under Check mail from other accounts, click
Add a mail account
.Enter your Outlook address → choose Link account with Gmailify (recommended) and follow the Microsoft sign-in prompts to grant access.
If you only see POP3 import (no Gmailify)
See Troubleshooting below for alternatives.
Step 2 — Add that Gmail account to Filo (Skip if you add your Outlook to the Gmail you use on Filo)
In Filo, go to Settings →
Account
→Email Account
→Add Account
.Choose Gmail and sign in with the same Gmail you just Gmailified.
Step 3 — Send & reply as your Outlook address in Filo
When composing or replying in Filo, tap/click From → choose your Outlook address.
What works with Gmailify
Two-way sync for read, archive, delete, and spam between Gmail ↔ Outlook
Filo features (Smart Labels, summaries, to-dos, search, notifications) on your Outlook mail—because it now lives in your Gmail inbox
Sending as Outlook from Filo via Gmail’s “Send mail as”
Known limitations
Mail only: Calendar/Contacts don’t sync via Gmailify.
Outlook folders map to Gmail labels; Outlook categories/colors don’t carry over.
Some enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants disable Gmailify; see alternatives below.
Troubleshooting & alternatives
I don’t see the Gmailify option. What now?
Try linking from the Gmail mobile app (Android) where Gmailify is most visible.
If your org blocks Gmailify, use this fallback:
In Gmail web → Accounts and Import → Check mail from other accounts → Add a mail account → select Import emails from my other account (POP3).
Still in Accounts and Import, set Send mail as to your Outlook address and complete verification.
Add this Gmail to Filo (Step 2).
Note: POP3 doesn’t provide full two-way sync like Gmailify.
My Outlook address isn’t in Filo’s From menu.
In Gmail web, ensure Settings → Accounts and Import → Send mail as includes your Outlook address and is verified.
In Filo, pull to refresh (iOS) or quit & reopen (macOS).
I switched from POP to Gmailify and now see duplicates.
In Gmail web → Accounts and Import, remove the old POP3 fetch after Gmailify is working.
How do I disconnect later?
In Gmail web → Accounts and Import, unlink or remove the account under Gmailify/POP and “Send mail as.”
In Filo → Settings → Accounts, remove the Gmail account if needed.
Privacy & security notes
Your Outlook password is granted to Microsoft ↔ Gmail during linking.
Filo connects only to Gmail (the account you added to Filo). Filo never stores your Outlook credentials directly.
